Thompson is a Belgian family business founded by Hector De Smet in 1921 in the town of Geraardsbergen, home of the “Muur van Geraardsbergen” which is of course known from the Ronde Van Vlaanderen. After its establishment, Thompson immediately started full production in-house, from design to welding, painting and assembling frames. The Thompson philosophy very quickly became clear to the public, namely “A high quality for a fair price”.

Of course, after more than 90 years in the industry and 4 generations later, this ideology remains unchanged! Today, Thompson has a full range of bikes with the production of E-bikes, road, mtb, cross, sports and city bikes.

Well-known cyclists such as "Ijzeren" Briek Schotte and Roger De Cock, among others, won big victories on a Thompson bicycle at the time! Briek Schotte won his first Ronde Van Vlaanderen in 1942 on a Thompson bicycle. Roger De Cock won both the 1952 Tour of Flanders and the 1954 Tour of Belgium on a Thompson bike. In an interview later in the champion's life, he said "The Thompson I rode in '54 was the best bike of my career".

This is ensured by a 20-strong workforce who work every day to deliver your bike, assembled by hand and with the greatest care in our assembly halls, to you in perfect condition and through our extensive dealer network of around 250 dealers. This all happens in Lessines, where our warehouses and assembly hall are located in an area of +/- 3500 square metres.

Be Creative colour options:

The Thompson "Be Creative" system allows individuals to design their own colour scheme! All carbon frames are painted in-house with the utmost care. This allows us to do something extra for the consumer.

Via a configurator on the website, you can choose from dozens of colours and put together your own personal bike. And to make your bike even more exclusive, you can have your name placed on the frame, all included in the price. Provided all parts are in stock, normal delivery time is about 3 to 4 weeks.

Notwithstanding the sublime quality of our bikes, proper and expert maintenance of your bike remains necessary. For that, you need to be with a professional. At the Thompson dealer, you can find not only the complete collection of bicycles but also personal advice and perfect service.
